Ozone is the strongest oxidizing agent used in water treatment.
Thanks to its high reactivity, ozone reacts faster, more completely and with more substances in the water than any other disinfectant. Viruses and organic pollutants are also oxidized within a short period of time. The chemical composition of the water is also significantly improved.
Another major advantage is that ozone does not leave any residues in the water. After exposure, ozone decomposes into oxygen again. It is thus the most environmentally friendly disinfectant used today.
Advantages of disinfection with ozone
Reduction of chlorine in pool water (0.2 - 0.5 mg/l instead of 0.3 - 0.6 mg/l according to DIN19643, thus 30% less chlorine), which means that fewer chlorine compounds such as chloramines, haloforms etc. are produced. Chlorine compounds are rapidly degraded by ozone.

Therapy pools
DIN 19643 stipulates a procedure using with ozone for therapy pools. The use of ozone is recommended for exercise pools.
